My name is Jessica DeBaufer, MS, LPC and I am the founder of Willow Wood Counseling. I received my MS in Clinical Counseling from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. I am originally from Chicago, IL where I worked at a private practice as a pediatric therapist.
Since moving to Arizona, I have worked with children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults of all ages. I have experience working with these populations individually as well as within family and group settings.
I utilize an eclectic, psychoeducational, skills and strength-based treatment approach. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, ADHD, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem issues, life transitions, behavioral concerns, anger management, school-related issues, and more!
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) techniques into my sessions.
I believe that truly meaningful work cannot be made unless an individual feels comfortable with their therapist. To this end, I approach my work with an empathic, compassionate, patient, and warm demeanor. I strive to connect with individuals where they are, with a kind and non-judgmental approach.
I believe in the importance of having my clients as active participants and collaborators during their sessions for optimal growth and success. Through a combination of collaboration, compassion, and specialized treatment approaches – clients can expect gratifying personal growth.
